LeRoy Chaney

	 LeRoy Chaney, 66, of Elkville, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2001 at 5:35 p.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin.
	Mr. Chaney was a member of the I.B.E.W. Union.  He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #127 and the VFW Post #7190.
	He was born November 10, 1934 at Murphysboro, the son of Horace Chaney and Irene (Mitchell) Chaney.  He married Mary Ellen Hardman on August 6, 1955 at Quartzsite, Ariz. and she survives.
	 In addition to his wife, Mary Ellen Chaney of Elkville, surviving are one son, Lon Chaney of Elkville; four daughters, Mickey Adams and husband John of Winslow, Ariz., Carla Chaney of Murphysboro, JoAnn Haynes and husband Robert of Delaware, Ohio and Jill Chaney of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Lewis Chaney of Elkville; five sisters, Doris Huck of Scottsdale, Ariz., Marlene Borwn of Afton, Tenn., Donna Griffiths of Montgomery, Ala., Carol Smith of Newburgh, Ind. and Diana Grammer of Tanana, Alaska; six grandchildren, Cammeron Adams, Jason Chaney, Stacy Haynes, Kyle Adams, Amy Haynes and Jesse Haynes and many friends and relatives.
	He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dallas Chaney and Harry Lee Chaney.
	Graveside services were held Sunday, June 3 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park with Roger Kried officiating.  Family and Friends were asked to go directly to the cemetery.
	Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Pettett Funeral Home in Murphysboro.
